Have you always wanted to create a large-scale abstract painting? Here’s your chance!

Participants bring a large canvas, and the rest will be provided. No artistic experience is necessary for this class, but attendees are required to bring their own large canvas in their preferred dimensions (maximum 40 inches wide) and wear art clothes. All paints and other media will be supplied.

This 2-hour guided abstract course is led by Angie, who will walk participants through multiple steps to create a large, layered abstract painting from start to finish. The class will explore a variety of media, including acrylic paint, soft pastels, graphite, charcoal, brushes, and spatulas, incorporating expressive gestures and mark-making techniques.

It’s an opportunity to create bold, expressive art—using the whole body, big movements, and full expression. Think Jackson Pollock: big canvas, full-body motion, and creative freedom.

Instructor Bio:
Angie Marchinkow is an multidisciplinary artist, writer, musician, and self-proclaimed "Art Enabler". Her goal is to bring wellness to the community through access, participation, and understanding of the arts (especially of abstract art) and what it means to be creative. She recognizes that creative expression is our natural state, and hopes to find new ways to help others feel seen and encouraged through creativity and community.
