Whether you have dreams of being onstage, on screen, or you’d just like to have a little more confidence speaking up at work, this introduction to acting will give you a toolbox to start building a sustainable performance practice. In addition to addressing fundamentals like breath, voice, embodiment, and self-care for actors, this course offers the basics on some of the most popular techniques used in the craft of acting. Come play, try out a scene, tackle a monologue, reflect on the human experience…and then get out of your head and play a little more. For ages 18+.

About the Instructor: Sarah is a theatre artist, presence and creativity coach, and interfaith chaplain. She spent years performing in and putting on plays in New York City before running a theatre-for-social-change troupe at UNC Chapel Hill. She has most recently been teaching acting classes at Atlanta’s Tony-award-winning Alliance Theatre, at the Durham Arts Council, and online. More at wellplayedcreative.com
