Early Registration Dates:
This program is open to students in grades K-5 and bus transportation is provided by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Elementary Schools.
Choose 5-day or 3-day a week options. Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, your child will participate in two art classes taught by our fabulous teaching artists. You can choose visual arts, performing arts, or a mix of the two. Classes explore a range of exciting topics such as Theatre Improv, Drawing Basics, Freestyle Embroidery, Music Discovery Lab, and more! On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will have a chance to explore our makerspaces with staff-led craft projects and STEAM activities. Science and art come together to spark the imagination!
With our new location, we will also have a dedicated youth gallery where the kids can display their work, an outdoor environmental classroom, and self-serve coffee for parents at the end of a long day.
Registration for current AfterSchool families and Annual Family Basic Members begins June 3rd at 10 am. Registration for other families begins June 17th at 10 am.

Arrival: Each afternoon, two AAI Staff members wait at the ArtsCenter bus stop to greet students as they arrive. Staff will mark attendance before walking them into the building. Our staff will always ask the bus driver if a student on our list does not arrive at The ArtsCenter. Students will be given a snack when they arrive to the ArtsCenter. If your student has any dietary allergies, please let us know so that we can plan to have a snack for them.
Pick Up: Note that the pick-up window has been designated as 5:20 PM to 6:00 PM to accommodate the conclusion of our classes at 5:20 PM.
If your child is absent, please email Annalise Bocko at artscampassistant@artscenterlive.org any time before 1pm on that day. If you need to contact us during AfterSchool hours, please call our parent information line at 919-561-5960. If we are expecting your child on a scheduled day but they do not arrive, we will email, text, or call you to check that they are safe with you.
According to our AfterSchool Immersion cancellation policy, you can cancel your registration up to 28 days before the program starts. This gives us enough time to offer the spot to another student. You can do this by yourself through our mobile app or your account dashboard. If you cancel, we'll charge you a $25 admin fee for the cancellation and then refund the rest.
If you want to leave the program or change your student's schedule after the program has started, you'll need to let us know. Please send an email at least 4 weeks in advance of any planned changes to our Director of Education, Annalise Bocko, at abocko@artscenterlive.org. We bill tuition every month, and we can't adjust the bill if you're only there for part of the month. We also can't keep spots open if your student needs to be absent for some time during the year. If your student is going to be absent for 2 weeks or more, you'll still need to pay the full month's tuition to keep their spot in the program.

This Discipline Policy is used as a guideline. The ArtsCenter reserves the right to bypass steps when it is appropriate. The safety of all students and staff is our highest priority.
In the case of expulsion or removal from the program, there will be no refund or pro-rating of program fees already paid. A student who has been expelled or removed from the program may request to be allowed back into the program in a subsequent year. This request must be put in writing and approved by the Director of Education before the student will be allowed to return to the program.
As we charge monthly, we cannot retroactively give a pro-rated refund or full month refund. If you wish to cancel a student’s enrollment in our After School program for the remainder of the school year, we will not charge you for any subsequent months. We will not turn tuition fees into credit for ArtsCamp or ArtSchool. We can accept canceled tuition fees as a donation and provide you with the appropriate tax documentation.
