Tumbler Ridge Outdoor Recreation Association
TRORA fosters stewardship and advocacy for outdoor recreation and backcountry experiences.
Description
At TRORA (Tumbler Ridge Outdoor Recreation Association), we unite four prominent non-profit user groups in Tumbler Ridge in close partnership with the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark, fostering stewardship and advocacy for outdoor recreation, enhancing the overall environment, and improving the backcountry experience for users, residents, and local businesses. As a multi-stakeholder association, we collaborate with key stakeholders and the major volunteer-led non-profit outdoor recreation groups: Ridge Riders Snowmobile Association, Wolverine Nordic & Mountain Society, Tumbler Ridge Mountain Bike Association, and Grizzly Valley ATV Club. Together, we aim to ensure responsible and sustainable management of our outdoor resources. With a growing emphasis on diversifying Tumbler Ridge's local economy and harnessing tourism potential, our approach focuses on sustainable tourism growth, effective leadership, and clear outdoor management policies. By embracing the tourism economy holistically, TRORA fosters a shared vision and unifies community interests for stronger and more sustainable outcomes. Together, we achieve unified marketing initiatives, trail maintenance and grooming, responsible tourism growth, preservation of public access to crown land, effective area management, and coordinated advocacy. Join TRORA in safeguarding and enhancing the outdoor recreation experience in Tumbler Ridge for generations to come!
