Join us for this insightful tour & talk featuring the Conifers of VanDusen Botanical Garden. Coniferous trees, ranging from towering giants to alpine miniatures, are among the most diverse and long-lived organisms on Earth, with a fascinating natural history and a wide range of ornamental uses. Join Buck Buchwald, the Site Supervisor of horticulture operations at VanDusen, to discover the fascinating variety of conifers in the Garden, including evergreens and deciduous species, and learn about their unique adaptations and ecological roles.

About the Instructor 

Buck Buchwald, the Site Supervisor of horticulture operations at VanDusen, has been with Vancouver Parks since 2015. He holds a degree in Forestry Conservation from UBC and has a deep passion for BC ecosystems. While he is now curious about all sorts of plants, trees were his first botanical interest.  He enjoys nothing more than wandering in the great variety of outdoor spaces to be found here in our province.

Notes : Please note that registration will close at 4:00 p.m. PT, one business day before the event. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Please notify us of your cancellation in writing to learn@vandusen.org

Prérequis : Educational programs are available for both members and non-members. In order to register for a class, you first need to open an account with Amilia, our online registration portal.
