With 55-acres of beautiful green space in the middle of Vancouver, VanDusen Botanical Garden represents a safe and interactive learning experience for school and community groups looking for local field trip opportunities!

Booking Instructions

  • Click Field Trips and then "Guided Programs" or "Pollinator Days" or “Self-Directed Programs” below to view your options.

  •  A new page will open which describes the program and shows a calendar with up-to-date booking availability. 

  • Scroll through the calendar to find your preferred booking time and date, and click on the blue square to select an open time slot. If you don’t already have an Amilia account, you will be prompted to create one.  

  • Next, you’ll be asked for information about your group and to select a program theme (guided only), as well as directed to make payment.

Self-Directed

$200 for 30 participants (Including students, teachers, and chaperones) 

45-minute Guided $250 for 30 participants (Including students, teachers, and chaperones)
90-minute Guided $300 for 30 participants (Including students, teachers, and chaperones)
Pollinator Days $375 per 30 participants (Including students, teachers, and chaperones)

If you have more than 30 participants per class, please reach out to tyuan@vandusen.org (education assistants are excluded from this limit).

By registering for a program, you agree to review and abide by the Code of Conduct included in the Pre-trip Information Package that will be shared with you a week before your program. We will review the Code of Conduct upon your arrival to VanDusen Botanical Garden.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Payment due within 4 weeks of booking.

Cancellation requests made within 4 weeks of the initial booking date receive a full refund, less $15 administrative fee. Cancellation requests made prior to 4 weeks of the program date receive a 50% refund.

No refunds will be given for cancellation requests that are made within 4 weeks of the program date.

VBGA accepts Visa, Mastercard, cheque or cash. 

Guided Program Themes

Guided programs are available to students in Grades K through 12. 45 minute programs are bookable year round and 90 minute programs are bookable October, November, April, May, and June. Take a look at the selections listed below to find the perfect option for your class! 

90-Minute Programs (available October, November, April, May, and June):

  • A Sense of Nature (K-Gr.2)        
  • Ecosystem Explorers (3-Gr.6)
  • Fantastic Flowers (Gr.1-Gr.4)
  • Pond Peering (Gr.1-Gr.4) May and June only
  • Seed Secrets (K-Gr.4) October and November only

45-Minute Programs (available year round):

  • Glimpse of the Garden (K-Gr.7)
  • Natural Heritage Walk (Gr.8-Gr.10)
  • Strategizing Sustainability (Gr.8-Gr.12)

Self-Directed Program 

Self-Directed programs are available year round

Pollinator Days (May 28, 29, and 30 Only)

POLLINATOR DAYS 2025 registration: Please choose from either Wednesday May 28, Thursday May 29, or Friday May 30. Pollinator Days runs from 10am-2pm. Classes from Preschool to Grade 6 are encouraged to attend one of the three event days.
