Informations importantes

Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association is delighted to present free, guided Birding Tours at VanDusen Botanical Garden with our knowledgeable volunteer guides.

During this leisurely 2-hour tour through the Garden, your small group will look & listen for some of the many resident & migratory bird species that frequent the site while your guides share their birding skills, enthusiasm, and knowledge. Beginners are encouraged to attend! Dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them (we will have a few pairs on hand to share).

A typical tour will cover roughly 1-1.5kms of both paved and non-paved trails in the garden, birding on the go and taking lots of opportunities to stop and observe. Some trails may have moderate slopes, steps or uneven ground (grass or wood chip). However, with many flat/mostly flat, fully paved trails throughout the Garden, we are happy to adapt our route for those using mobility devices or those who experience accessibility challenges.

Please note: General public must pay regular admission fees for entrance to the Garden. Members are exempt from admission fees. Pre-registration through our online booking system is required to attend this free program.

  • To register for a program, you must first open an account with Amilia, our online registration portal. Note that your membership account does NOT give you this access. You must open a separate account in Amilia.
  • Please save your Amilia account user name & password for registration in future classes

We kindly ask you not to register for more than one bird tour per month to keep this free program available to as many visitors as possible. Please feel free to email us at learn@vandusen.org with any further questions you may have about this event.
