Join woodworker Hamp Stevens for a tour and demo in his private home workshop, located right here in Highlands! Stevens will introduce participants to Polyhedral Objects, their respective classes and types, designs, and equipment needed to construct the shape. He will provide examples of various Polyhedra he has built out of paper, wood, and metal, and will conduct a live demonstration of the techniques involved. Participants will then get to observe as Stevens builds a Dodecahedron from scratch, and show the lathed techniques involved in making Spherical Polyhedra. Stevens will end the demonstration with a Q&A period.

Instructor: Hamp Stevens graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Business Administration in 1973. Over the last 55 years, he has owned and operated a number of businesses throughout different industries. Stevens also owned a seat on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and was a professional Commodities and Options trader until 2004. Following these endeavors, Stevens turned to woodworking and has become a serious woodworker and wood turner.

Programs that include food, beverage or art materials must be canceled within three (3) weeks prior to receive a refund. CLE reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment has not been met or for circumstances beyond our control, and participants will be notified, a complete refund will be issued. All classes are held in the CLE Lecture Hall at the Peggy Crosby Center unless otherwise noted. Addresses for “private home” venues will be provided to registrants within 2 days of the program date.
