Welcome to Building Big With Coils!

This 3 week special studies course, taught by Benjamin Cahoon, will help students engage with coil building like never before. We will talk about different coil building techniques to build large vessels, platters, planters. Special attention will be placed on growing an understanding of how the architecture of a large vessel is necessary to support a larger form. This course is open to all, however, experience with the ceramic process is highly encouraged. *Because of the nature of large work, students should expect an extended timeline for construction, drying, and firing before taking their pieces home
