Description:

Offered Tuesdays 9am-Noon for 6 weeks, $190 for the course plus materials.

In this course students will explore various methods and techniques in ceramic surface decoration. We will walk through making texture tools, glazing techniques, underglaze uses, carving, luster, and many more surface design techniques. 

Class structure will consist of a focus on a specific technique each class with a demo and work time. This class will not cover construction methods of ceramics, rather the main focus will be on surfaces. Students will be invited to make vessels and forms to practice on.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: The atmosphere of this class will be relaxed and welcoming, though we will be working with techniques that are slightly above a beginning level. Intermediate and advanced level students recommended.
