Description:

Ceramics Open Studio is only available through reservation. 

Reservations are in 1hr sessions. We have priced these sessions at a discount to help you create: 1hr sessions cost $12 per hour. One-hour Open Studio sessions cover both the main ceramics studio & Glaze studio. One-hour studio sessions cover firing(either bisque or glaze), studio equipment usage, and consumable materials (underglaze, wax, etc.); it does NOT cover clay. 

Certain dates and times may be unavailable due to building events, workshops and other conflicts. Always check the calendar.

These hours are current for January 14th-March 15th. 

Please note due to a private rental there will be no studio hours Friday January 16th 2pm-6pm & Saturday January 24th, 1pm-5pm. 

Students enrolled in Adult Ceramics courses receive codes for free, unlimited reservations. They are sent via email before the first week of classes. Please refer to your email for the code. Reservations MUST be made, even for enrolled students.

CERAMICS STUDIO GUIDELINES

  • No studio use without reservation
  • You must check in at the front desk at the top of your reservation
  • No more than 10 people in the ceramics & glaze rooms at a time (combined), unless in a formal class setting
  • Please take extra care to clean up after yourself.
  • Studio users Ages 11-15 may use open studio with the supervision and guidance of a guardian-contact our Studio Manager to discuss further
  • Reservation slots are 1hrs each. There is no partial credit.
  • If you would like to extend your time, please check with the front desk. There are often slots open, so you can book more time.
  • As usual, kiln firings, glazes, and all studio equipment are included in the session cost.
  • The Kiln firing schedule is roughly running at (1-2x glaze, 1-2x bisque a week) but please give grace and patience to our Studio Manager, Pilar Swanson.
  • Outside works can be brought in to be fired for $10 per kiln shelf, plus fees if your pieces damage our kiln or shelves. Please arrange directly with Pilar Swanson, Studio Manager, before bringing these works in. Once fired, you'll be contacted for payment.
  • Outside glazes are prohibited unless an 'Outside Firing Form' is filled out and associated firing fees are paid.

RESERVATION CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellations are processed by the Ceramics Studio Manger - all cancellations need to be sent by email to ceramicstudioscheduling@chehalemculturalcenter.org

  • Up to 2hrs before reservation = full refund to original form of payment
  • Less than 2hrs before reservation = full credit towards future reservation
  • Once reservation time has started / no contact / no show = no refund or credit

Required age: Over 11 years old on the day of the activity
