Description:
Explore painting simple silhouette landscapes in the foreground highlighting the beauty of the night sky with Christine Joy! This workshop will focus on how to paint vibrant night skies and intentionally “bleed” the colors in a soft gradient. The class will begin with a demonstration and then students will experiment, receiving individual instruction and tips based on their experience. This class will be great for first time painters as well as intermediate painters. For beginning painters we will learn how to set up our palettes and go through some of the basics of watercolors. For more advanced painters there will be further tips and tricks. In this class we will be working from photos, so students are also invited to bring in their own photo inspiration to work from - however Christine will be providing many great photos as well. Some extra focuses of this class will include: brushwork, texture, and of course some color theory! Though watercolors can seem like a tricky medium to some, there are many strategies we will work on together to make the process not only easier but also more enjoyable! Watercolors are an amazingly compact medium making the supplies easy to take anywhere. Once the students have their watercolor kits made they will be able to use it for many years to come. Christine is looking forward to painting with you! MATERIALS:
