Description:

At this time, the Ceramics Open Studio is only available through reservation. 

Reservations are in 1hr sessions. We have priced these sessions at a discount to help you create in spite of these tough times: 1hr sessions cost $10 per hour for limited hours each week. Your 1hr sessions cover both the main ceramics studio & Glaze studio. Certain dates and times may be unavailable due to events, workshops and other conflicts. Always check the calendar.

These hours are current for March 12th-May 11th . We may have disruptions to our schedule with our upcoming construction in 2024- we will always share information as soon as we receive it. There are no Studio Hours on March 14th due to Ceramics Rental and No hours on April 7th due to OPA event. Please review hours during Spring Break due to camps onsite. 

We are adding in full day Sunday hours- on those days- parking may be limited due to outside rentals at the CCC and you must enter through the Ceramics Studio back door only. Staff will be onsite to assist. 

Students enrolled in Adult Ceramics courses receive codes for free, unlimited reservations. They are sent via email the first week of classes (the codes expire two weeks after the final class). Please refer to your email for the code. Reservations MUST be made, even for enrolled students.

CERAMICS STUDIO GUIDELINES

  • No studio use without reservation
  • No more than 10 people in the ceramics & glaze rooms at a time (combined), unless in a formal class setting
  • Masks are now optional in the studio. 
  • You must check in at the front desk at the top of your reservation
  • Please take extra care to clean up after yourself.
  • Studio users Ages 11-15 may use open studio with the supervision and guidance of a guardian-contact our Studio Manager to discuss further
  • Reservation slots are 1hrs each. There is no partial credit.
  • If you would like to extend your time, please check with the front desk. There are often slots open, so you can book more time.
  • As usual, kiln firings, glazes, and all studio equipment are included in the session cost.
  • The Kiln firing schedule is roughly similar to pre-COVID (1-2x glaze, 1-2x bisque a week) but please give grace and patience to our Studio Manager, Pilar Swanson.
  • Outside works can be brought in to be fired for $10 per kiln shelf, plus fees if your pieces damage our kiln or shelves. Please arrange directly with Pilar Swanson, Studio Manager, before bringing these works in. Once fired, you'll be contacted for payment.

RESERVATION CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellations are processed by the Ceramics Studio Manger - all cancellations need to be sent by email to ceramicstudioscheduling@chehalemculturalcenter.org

  • Up to 2hrs before reservation = full refund to original form of payment
  • Less than 2hrs before reservation = full credit towards future reservation
  • Once reservation time has started / no contact / no show = no refund or credit

Required age: Over 11 years old on the day of the activity

Prerequisites: If you have not used the Ceramics Studio before, please reach out to our Ceramics Studio Manager to arrange a short orientation.
