Description:

This workshop offers hands-on experience in traditional bookbinding materials and techniques, specifically focusing on the creation of a soft bound sketchbook or journal with the French link stitch. Students will learn the basics of bookbinding while honing their skills in stitching and finishing, creating a beautiful, functional book to take home.

This workshop is designed for all skill levels of participants interested in learning a creative, hands-on skill. Whether you're a book lover, writer, artist, or someone interested in learning a new craft, this workshop will provide a comprehensive foundation in bookbinding.

Artist-Instructor: Katherine Burns

All materials will be provided including paper and linen thread. Participants can choose if they would prefer to make a drawing sketchbook (with Strathmore paper) or a Watercolor sketchbook (with Canson XL paper).

If students have a favorite paper they would prefer to use, they are welcome to bring 9x12 paper of their choosing. The finished book will be 6” x 9”

Prerequisites: All levels welcome! Minimum of 5 for workshop to run.
