Description:
Upcycled Apron (Confident Beginner)
In this class the instructor will guide you through taking a Men’s Large – X-Large button front dress shirt and converting it to an Apron. If you’re a thrifter or looking to down-size items not worn this is the class for you! Make it a memory Apron and use a loved one’s shirt!

Masks are not mandatory, distancing is recommended. Should any participant wish to wear a mask they are welcome to do so. Chilliwack ElderCollege and community partners will continue to follow all health protocols.

Notes: Location: Chilliwack UFV campus building A, room #A1355 Please bring: • A sewing Machine in good working order & the operating manual/instructions • Manufactured shirt in men’s next size 16 (Men’s Large) 17 (Men’s X-Large) 18 (Men’s XXL) * A lighter weight denim shirt is okay! • One (4 yard) package of ¼” double fold bias tape in contrast or matching colour. • Thread to match bias tape • If you wish to add a ruffle to your shirt at the bottom, please .9 mtrs of cotton fabric for ruffle, ties & pocket. • Chalk or washable marking pen (instructor will have available also) • Scissors • Seam Ripper • Measuring tape
Prerequisites: Must bring your own sewing machine in good working order. Please test your machine prior to attending. There is no pre-requisite, but some sewing experience is preferred.
