Description:
The Existence of God: A logical Examination of Arguments For and Against
Have people always wondered if there is a higher power? Throughout history, different thinkers and philosophers have tried to come up with reasons for and against the existence of God. Medieval scholars like Thomas Aquinas made famous arguments supporting this belief, while more recent ideas, such as the Intelligent Design Argument, claim to be backed by science. On the other side, arguments like the Problem of Evil and thought puzzles such as the Irresistible Force vs. Immovable Object challenge the idea that God exists.
What do all these arguments have in common? They don’t follow basic rules of logical thinking. So, if we can’t use logic to prove or disprove God’s existence, how do we make sense of what to believe? As Hamlet might say, "To believe or not to believe that is the question."
