Every moment of your life, inside and out, your body must defend itself against relentless microscopic invaders.  To these bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites you are food, shelter, and a nursery for their offspring.  Sometimes, even our own cells go rogue and cancerous.  Fortunately, our bodies are equipped with clever and powerful defenses.  Join Dr. Mark Evered on a tour of these, especially our remarkable immune system with its ability to identify foes, rally the cellular troops, and build life-long memories of how to deal with each one.  Along the way, we’ll also learn a bit about the science of vaccinations and other public health measures, autoimmune diseases, allergies, and how we can bolster our defences as we age.

Masks are not mandatory, distancing is recommended. Should any participant wish to wear a mask they are welcome to do so. Chilliwack ElderCollege and community partners will continue to follow all health protocols.
