Description: This large tree-shaded picnic area is located on the north end of the park, includes a small gazebo, and is within close proximity to a swing set and restroom. This area has 17 tables, 3 charcoal BBQ's, and can accommodate up to 200 people. Access to 110 volt electricity is available.
Reservation Details: Reservations must be made a minimum of 1-week in advance or a maximum of 6-months in advance. Picnic areas are held until 12 p.m. NOON on the day of the reservation.
Nonprofit Rate: If you are making a reservation on behalf of a nonprofit organization, please contact us via email at recreation@escondido.gov or by phone at 760-839-4692 before completing the online reservation process.
Reservation Times: Reservations are required to be booked online from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (10-hours) regardless of your event times. Your reservation will be honored on a per day basis; you may show up any time after dawn and must be cleaned up and gone by dusk. Dawn & Dusk hours vary throughout the year based on Daylight Savings and Standard time.
Major Holidays: If you would like to book this space on a major holiday, please email recreation@escondido.gov OR call 760-839-4692 and we would be happy to assist you in reserving this space.
Jumpers & Special Equipment: To add an air jump/special equipment, or gaming truck, there will be an additional $25 non-refundable fee. Air Jump/special equipment must be provided by a vendor from the City of Escondido Approved Vendor List. The contract is due one week prior to the event. Vendor companies not listed on the current approved vendor list must submit insurance and apply for an Escondido business license a minimum of 30-days prior to the event date.
Hired Vendors (caterers, characters, clowns, etc.): All hired vendors must obtain an Escondido Business License a minimum of 2-weeks prior to the event date. For questions or to apply, please contact the Business License department at 760-839-4659. There is a $25 non-refundable fee for catering.
Music/Amplified Sound: Amplified sound or music is not allowed in park areas. This includes loud speakers, DJ’s, Mariachis or any type of band. Music from a small, personal radio, Bluetooth speaker, or cellular phone is allowed as long as the volume is kept at a low level; sound cannot be audible more than 25 feet from the source of the sound.
Vehicular Access: At all times during the event, all vehicles must remain parked within designated parking spots and abide by all applicable parking restrictions. Vehicles are not permitted on the grass, along park roads, on sidewalks, or along access roads at any time. Parking tickets will be issued for non-compliance.
Cancellations: A refund of fees paid will be made if requested at least 30-days prior to the event date. Applicant will be assessed a 25% handling fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the event date are non-refundable.
