Do you have a little was not ready for preschool alst fall but is ready now? Do you think your child would benefit from an abundance of outdoor time in a supervised unstructured outdoor environment? Our experienced teachers will lead activities, games, reading time, along with guided exploration, all to complement the skill building benefits of free play outdoors. Children will be outdoors at most times, including cold to hot temps, rain, and snow. Proper outdoor gear is a required investment by parents, and a list of suggested items will be provided.
This is a kindergarten readiness drop-off preschool program and perfect for those children who want or need more outdoor time, while building social-emotional development.
Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday mornings, 2.5 hour classes, for a 12 week session beginning February 19. Areas utilized will be the Lakeside Nature Center, Lakeside Nature Center Shelter, wooded and open areas around Lakeside Nature Center, including the new outdoor classroom area, and Lakeside Recreation Facility (for severe weather/low temps).
Currently this brand new program does not have any financial assistance available, but with donations or grant funding, it may be available for future sessions.
Please note that there is no class on the following date(s):
- Monday, March 17, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- Monday, April 21, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Required age: 4 - 5 years old as of 9/1/2025
Notes: Spring 2025 session: Wednesday, February 19- Wednesday, May 21. No class March 17 and 19, or April 21 Official registration is open, but additional paperwork will be required on the first day of class, including copy of birth certificate.
Prerequisites: Must be ages 3.5 to 5 years. Must be potty-trained. Classes will be held mostly outside, with minimal time spent indoors (below 20 degrees/severe weather).
