Description:

PLEASE NOTE: At this time no new registration is being accepted for Winter & Spring quarters due to recital dances being learned and recital costumes already ordered and out of stock.  Please join us in Summer Camps (registration opens March 3) or Fall classes (registration begins July 7).

Those not registered for Fall quarter will be able to register for Winter quarter Performing Arts programs begining Oct 14 2024, for Roswell residents, as Fall quarter participants have priority to pre-register. If you would like to join in Fall quarter after  Fall classes have begun, please contact Nancy Brown at nwbrown@roswellgov.com.  Non-residents not in Fall quarter will be able to register for Winter beginning Oct 21, 2024.

Dance Recital Classes begin in September and continue through the school year with a Spring Recital April 25-26, day/time division to be announced late January 2025.   Tuition/Registration is due on quarterly basis in Fall, Winter and Spring.

Age on 9/1/24. 

Students must also register for the Recital costume fee by winter deadline in order to participate in the recital.  Early Bird Discount of $70 by 12/6/24.  Final Costume Fee $80 by 12/20/24.  Late Costume Fee, if costumes available, $80 after 12/20/24.    Ages 18+ see Teen or Adult classes.  Adult classes are listed under Performing Arts Adult Tab.

Ballet: A graceful, disciplined and technical form of dance that helps improve posture, balance, and placement.  Ballet is the foundation for most dance styles.     

Tap: The student will learn to make music with their feet.  Tap dance is seen widely in Musical Theatre and it helps dance students learn musicality, balance and leg strength.

Jazz: Dancing to kid friendly pop music, kids & teens can show there inner sass in this fun high energy class.  This dance style is typically seen in musicals on Broadway, in commercials, tv shows, and at competitions combining kicks, leaps, jumps, turns and everything in between.    Dancers learn body placement, movement, expression and proper technique in this class.  

Combo Classes: Students will experience 2 styles of dance in a one hour class. Proper shoes for each style are required.  If you are considering auditioning for Dance Starz dance company, combo classes will move at a slower pace and 1 hour ballet, tap and jazz classes are recommended for the full benefit of preparing for auditions.

Lyrical: Lyrical/Contemporary is a slower paced flowy technical dance form that includes elements of modern dance and is generally seen in commercials an competitive choreography.

Hip Hop: Students will learn the latest in pop hop/hip hop, street dance, and funk styles while dancing to kid friendly funky pop music.

Musical Theatre: Students will experience the musical theatre style dance by learning choreography and the vocals to various musical numbers, playing theatre games, learning character and scene work, and building confidence through performance. This is not a voice instruction class.  If considering auditioning for Roswell Youth Theatre additional Jazz and Tap classes are recommended.
