Humans first moved into the Champlain Valley around 12,000 years ago, utilizing resources from important waterways like Lake Champlain and its tributaries. Lake Champlain lies between Vermont, New York, and Canada, and has served as main highway or transportation route throughout human history. This presentation will explore the human history of the usage of Lake Champlain through time and showcase shipwrecks and material culture left behind as examples of adaptations, technologies, and past ways of life.
