Description:

Discover the ancient skill of making fire with handmade friction tools in this immersive, skill-building experience led by experienced naturalist and wilderness skills practitioner, Cole McLaughlin. Whether you're a beginner starting from scratch, or an experienced fire-maker looking to refine your skills, you'll be supported by a group of peers learning and sharing alongside you.

Start the day with a gentle wander across the land, gathering natural materials from the wild edges of the landscape to craft your own friction fire kit from scratch. Then, settle around the fire and practice building, and using friction fire kits such as hand drills and bow drills.

No special tools are required, but feel free to bring any carving tools you're comfortable using.
