Important information

FOLLOW THESE TWO STEPS TO REGISTER

  1. Register with the ERC:  Click on your desired session to add the purchase to your shopping cart, create your account, and complete the ERC registration forms.  When you check out from our store, you will be charged an additional fee for annual membership in the governing bodies for rowing - Rowing Canada Aviron and Alberta Rowing Association.  Among other things, this fee provides insurance coverage for you.  ERC does not receive any portion of this fee, currently $54.40.   You will pay it only once yearly, even if you sign up for more than one ERC program.
  2. Register with RCA:  Create your RCA account by clicking this link. Once you have done that, we will enroll you in the correct program.  You do not need to enroll in a program or make any payment on the RCA site.  Parents, please note:  The RCA account must be in the name of the individual rowing, not the responsible adult.

Getting started in rowing:

Our introductory program includes classes at two levels.  Level 1 is Learn to Row, a series of six (for adults) or five (for youth) lessons where you will acquire the fundamental skills needed to become a competent rower.  You will become acquainted with the basics of rowing movement, safety, terminology, and commands through on-land and on-water instruction. Depending on class size, you will have the chance to row in different boat sizes and configurations. Level 2 is Learn to Train, a series of 4 classes that will help you refine the techniques learned in Level 1 and prepare you to join one of our recreational or competitive membership programs.

If you decide to become a club member the same year you complete one or more courses, your membership fee will be discounted by $280 (Learn to Row) or $160 (Learn to Train)
