General Agreements:

Our goal at Engineering for Kids is to provide the most enjoyable camps and classes for kids, while keeping costs low and as affordable as possible for families. You understand that camps and classes are planned well in advance. As an incentive for enrolling early and helping us plan accordingly, we sometimes offer early bird specials or early registration discounts. To effectively manage our costs and ensure that we staff and stock supplies according to our student ratios, you agree to the following policies regarding cancellations and change requests.

Paid in Full Club Cancellation Policy:

You understand that by registering for a class, we are reserving a space for your child to attend the class for the specific period purchased. Installments are charged before the month in which service will be provided. You may cancel future installments at any time by notifying us via email; notification must be recieved before the 28th of the preceding month.

Refunds are not granted to students who are dismissed from the program for disciplinary reasons. In addition, we are unable to provide a refund if your child is ill or absent / late. If you know your child will not make it to class, please contact us to see if we can arrange a make-up opportunity.

Waitlist Policy

Our class size is limited. If a program is full, our registration system offers a waitlist option. We recommend placing students on the waitlist; when space opens up we will contact families on a first come first serve basis. If 3 or more students are on the waitlist, we will attempt to open a new section of the program to accommodate the demand.

Participation Agreement and Release

I agree that in consideration for the right to allow my child to participate as a student of Engineering for Kids and in consideration for permission to participate in classes:

On behalf of my child and myself, I do voluntarily elect to accept and solely assume all risks of injury incurred or suffered by my child while participating in programs with Engineering for Kids and their partnered facility.

I hereby certify that my child is fully capable of participating in class at Engineering for Kids and that my child is healthy and possesses no characteristics that would restrict full participation in these classes, except as made known to Engineering for Kids in writing.

I grant and authorize Engineering for Kids, its representatives and employees the right to take, edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, distribute, and make use of any and all photographs or videos taken of me and my property in connection with the above-identified subject to be used in and/or for legally promotional materials including but not limited to, newsletters, flyers, posters, brochures, advertisements, fundraising letters, annual reports, press kits and submissions to journalists, websites, social networking sites and other print and digital communications, without payment or any other consideration. This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or hereafter devised. This authorization shall continue indefinitely, unless I otherwise revoke said authorization in writing. I understand and agree that these materials shall become the property of Engineering for Kids and will not be returned.

I hereby hold harmless, and release Engineering for Kids, HKL Creative LLC and the facilities that host our programs from all liability, petitions, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons may make while acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate.

I acknowledge (a) that I have read (or have had read to me) each and every one of the provisions in this waiver, release of liability and indemnification agreement, (b) that I understand each of the provisions in this agreement and (c) that I agree to abide by them.

Medical Emergencies:

I agree to inform Engineering for Kids within 24 hours if my child or any member of the household develops a reportable communicable disease (immediate notification required if the disease is life threatening). The Engineering for Kids staff shall notify parent/guardians whenever their child becomes ill and the parent/guardian will arrange to have the child picked up as soon as possible. In the event I cannot be reached in an emergency, I hereby give permission to the Engineering for Kids staff to seek medical treatment at the nearest medical facility. I understand that I am responsible for the medical expenses incurred by my child and that Engineering for Kids advises that I carry health insurance for my child.

Transportation Policy:

Parents understand that to comply with the sign in/out procedures, the parent will come into the Program to drop off and pick up child. Engineering for Kids shall not release a child to any person without parent's consent. Engineering for Kids will assess a late pick up fee of $1.00 per minute after the end of camp/class, beginning after the first 10 minutes. Engineering for Kids reserves the right to require identification of any person picking up your child. In the event that persons are designated NOT eligible to pick up a child, the parent agrees to provide Engineering for Kids custodial paperwork. Engineering for Kids will contact persons listed as Emergency Contacts if the child has not been picked up within 10 minutes after camp/class has ended for the day.

Code of Conduct:

Your participant's safety and the enjoyment of our programs is of the utmost importance to us. We have adopted the following code of conduct to ensure the best experience possible for all participants enrolled in Engineering for Kids programs. Please review these expectations with your student

Engineering for Kids reserves the right to dismiss any individuals if their actions or attitudes are deemed detrimental to the outcomes or overall learning environment of other students, as set forth as set forth in our Code of Conduct, and that there shall be no refunds issued for such dismissal. You agree that you have read through, understand, and agree to Engineering for Kids Code of Conduct. You further agree that you will review the Engineering for Kids Code of Conduct with your participant(s) that is/are participating in a program run by Engineering for Kids.

You understand that your participant can be dismissed, without a refund, from a program for the following reasons: drug/alcohol/tobacco use; viewing pornography or any inappropriate material on the Internet; inappropriate language (swearing, using bad words, racial slurs, etc.); physical violence or threats of physical violence against other participants or Engineering for Kids staff; damage to Engineering for Kids equipment or property, the equipment and property of the facility that is hosting Engineering for Kids programs; stealing property of others; inappropriate use of equipment; sexual harassment of other participants or Engineering for Kids staff; internet hacking; or bullying.

You understand and agree that you are responsible for the repair and replacement of Engineering for Kids equipment and facilities and those of the host facility that is running the Engineering for Kids program due to any failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct policy by your participants.

If possession of illegal substances or weapons is suspected, participant(s) will be subject to search and seizure. If possession of illegal substances or weapons is found, participant(s) will be dismissed from the program immediately.

Participant (and therefore parent/guardian) is responsible for any personal items brought to and loaned. Participant promises to respect all Engineering for Kids staff members and other participants while treating the facilities and equipment with great care. Engineering for Kids provides all necessary equipment and supplies needed for your participant to participate in Engineering for Kids programs. We do not require participants to bring any devices to Engineering for Kids. However, we understand that parents may want to communicate with their students via cell phone. Should the participant bring a personal device to the program, please note:

• Engineering for Kids and its host facility partners are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen equipment—participant and/or parent/guardian assume all risk.

• Appropriate use of personal devices are allowed during breaks and lunch periods. Personal devices may not be used during instructional class times—unless they are approved by the teacher.

• We recommend that personal devices be stored in a backpack. Cell/smart phones can be kept on hand but must be in silent mode during instructional times.

• Accessing the Internet via a local Wi-Fi hotspot at the program location is the sole responsibility of the participant. Participant and parent/guardian must comply with all providers’ terms & conditions, and assume all financial risk.

•Viewing inappropriate content (including sexual content, inappropriate violence, racism, bullying, etc.) online may result in immediate dismissal from a program, without a refund.

•Any attempts at computer “hacking” will result in immediate dismissal from a program, without a refund.

Local authorities will be contacted when warranted.

Parent/guardian of the participant understands that Engineering for Kids reserves the right to dismiss any participant from the program without any prior warning for violating any of the terms of the Engineering for Kids Code of Conduct or this agreement. You acknowledge that upon staff observation of your participant at the Engineering for Kids program, the Director may determine that the program is not a suitable and/or productive environment for your participant. In this case, Engineering for Kids may dismiss the participant and no refund will be issued. Engineering for Kids will exhaust every opportunity for an excellent relationship with every participant. However, in some rare cases, Engineering for Kids may not be a compatible environment for every participant.
