HEC SPORTS PROGRAM

SPORT: Cross Country

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Time: 3:15–4:00PM

Season runs from August to Thanksgiving Break and our award ceremony will be in December. 


Ready to lace up and hit the ground running? Join our Cross Country Team at HEC Lakeside—designed for students who want to improve their endurance, build confidence, and have fun while staying active. Whether your child is new to running or already clocking impressive mile times, this program offers a supportive and motivating environment for all levels.

Practices meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15–4:00 PM, with meets on select Saturdays throughout the season for the team to experience the excitement of racing and camaraderie.

Parent participation is reequired for the Meets with standing at cones throughout the path of running, watching students for safety and passing out water & electrolytes.

Each runner will receive a PE log which can be used for charter school PE tracking if needed. At the end of the semester, we celebrate student progress with awards for best times and personal achievements—because every step forward is a win!

Coach Allen brings passion, purpose, and a whole lot of miles to everything she does—both in the classroom and on the course. A former high school cross country standout, Coach Allen discovered a love for running early on and never looked back. She is hoping to bring the whole HEC community together through this fun sport and provide students with a memorable Cross Country team experience!

Notes: IF PAYING WITH PRIVATE FUNDS:  Payment is required to be sent DIRECTLY to the vendor.  DEPOSIT: A $50 non-refundable deposit (which is part of the class fee) needs to be received within 24 hours. If payment is not received your child will be dropped. There are no exceptions. REFUND POLICY FOR PRIVATE OUT OF POCKET PAYMENTS: CASH PAYMENTS REFUND POLICY: The $50 non-refundable deposit will be kept if you change your mind and want to drop the class & notify The Vendor before the class start to drop. CASH PAYMENT REFUND POLICIES IF CANCELING BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF 8/29/25 FIRST SEMESTER & 1/16/26 SECOND SEMESTER: For classes $399 and under: A $50 non-refundable deposit will be kept plus any prorated class fee up to an additional $35, if you drop the class after classes have started, the first week, whether your child attended or not on all classes. For classes $400 and over: A $75 non-refundable deposit will be kept plus any prorated class fee up to an additional $35, if you drop the class after classes have started, the first week, whether your child attended or not on all classes. IF PAYING WITH CHARTER FUNDS: If you are paying with charter funds, and do not want to pay anything out of pocket, then wait to register until your charter funds are available. Either a Charter payment of Enrichment Certificate or Purchase Order OR a $50 non-refundable deposit MUST be received within 5 BUSINESS days or your child will be dropped. There are no exceptions. If you do not have access to charter funds yet, you will need to pay a $50 non-refundable deposit OR do not register until you have access to your funds & the vendor can receive the payment within 5 business days. There are no exceptions. Check with your charter on their policies. Check with your charter on when they will release funds to be used for SERVICES. All charters work differently. When paying with charter funds from a charter that pays the full amount upfront, order the FULL amount. The following charters pay in full upfront: Pacific Coast Academy, Mission Vista Academy, Cabrillo Point Academy, SoCal Scholars Academy, Suncoast Prep (up to $385), Freedom Academy, Granite Mountain Academy. When paying with charters funds from a charter that splits payments monthly, Follow the following monthly payment plan: Order 30% of the total up front for class fee, then divide the balance over the rest of the semester. If you drop a class and cancel these charter payments, you will no longer be able to attend classes at HEC. REFUND POLICY FOR CHARTER PAYMENTS: CHARTER FUNDS PAYMENT REFUND POLICY: A $50 non-refundable deposit will be kept from your charter funds as a deposit, if you change your mind about the class before it starts because you are holding a space in that class. *NEW POLICY CHARTER FUNDS PAYMENT REFUND POLICY: All charter funds are non-refundable once classes have started for charter payments. There are no refunds. Charter enrichment certificates and/or purchase orders will not be adjusted to a prorated amount, whether your child attended or not. If classes have started, there are no refunds. FULL PAYMENT TERMS: Full payment or Full charter enrichment certificate/Purchase order from your charter is due BEFORE your student can start classes. Classes will not be held without payment if it has been over 5 days or if classes have started. If you register after that, then full payment or charter enrichment certificate is due BEFORE starting class. Students may NOT start class without full payment. No Exceptions! A SCREENSHOT IS NOT PAYMENT. No exceptions. ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS: HEC Vendors do not accept payments marked for Services or marked "Turn on for purchases." If paying through Venmo, PayPal or other electronic payments, please make sure this is not turned on. ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS: If marked for purchases, you will be refunded, minus any payment fees that were charged, and you will be asked to re-submit payment for the full amount of the class.

For Inland Empire: MVA, CPA, Suncoast, Granite Mountain, Springs, Taylion, Excel, & Elite along with others. If you don’t see your charter listed on their BIO, request if they will consider applying.
