Jr. Vet Club gives children who are passionate about animals the opportunity to learn hands-on from a vet or a vet tech about what it means to work with animals. This three week program is jam-packed of engaging, educational lessons, and interactive activities.
Participants will learn about healthy animals and physical exams in one class, safety and behaviour in another, and finally, they will get to participate in a Teddy Bear Clinic, putting all their knowledge together into one exciting evening.
This is a truly unique experience, filled with new friends (person and animal) and learning.
Members of our Jr. Vet Club recieve a stethoscope to perform their physical exams, as well as notebooks, pens, and any other materials needed. Club members also receive prefferred registration on new programs in our Vets in Training catalogue, and exclusive discounts on other programs throughout the year.
Important Information:
- These lessons happen mostly in class, and are split up with about 1/2 class time, and 1/2 practical learning related to our lesson. This club is best suited for students who can work well in this classroom environment.
- Participants must be able to function very well in a 1:10 staff to child ratio. We do not have 1:1 support available, as this is a small class run by 1 presenter and 1 staff member. If a child requires supervision because of behaviour or other concerns, our ability to teach the course and care for class as a whole becomes compromised.
- Students must be able to keep themselves physically and emotionally safe, which means treating themselves, and others, with respect; abstaining from bullying, harassment, violence or general unruliness or unwillingness to listen.
- No refunds will be given for missed sessions, for any reason
