Description:
In this workshop, you will learn how to craft cinematic images from a professional cinematographer. You will explore the expressive possibilities of lighting and how to create a wide variety of moods with the camera. We’ll go on a journey from the high contrast look of classic horror movies to the gauzy, glamorous look of romance, and many more places. You'll also see firsthand how a cinematographer breaks down a script and creates a plan to bring a film to life visually with shotlists, storyboards, and lighting plots. This workshop is for students who truly want to take their films to the next level and put something eye-popping on the screen. Special guest instructor Larry Blanford has over three decades of experience in Hollywood cinematography. His recent credits as director of photography include The Pickup with Eddie Murphy, Ride Along, My Spy, Think Like a Man, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and the upcoming Netflix film 72 Hours starring Kevin Hart and Academy Award nominee Teyana Taylor.
