Description:

In this workshop, students will produce a music video using their own music or by collaborating with a local musician. Students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking (including screenwriting, cinematography, and editing). They'll also watch and analyze all kinds of music videos, from poetic to narrative, classic to experimental, MTV throwbacks to modern innovators. Finally, students will split into small groups and make a music video from start to finish. This workshop is perfect for musicians or for those who just love music and filmmaking! All levels are welcome.

Notes: Classes fill quickly. In the event that a class doesn’t fill, registration will close one week before the scheduled start date. High school students in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County public schools may be able to use Light House workshops as work-based learning credit towards their diplomas.
