Description:

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create an adrenaline-fueled film with chases, stunts, and witty one-liners. Students will learn the basics of writing, directing, and editing, then move on to special topics like green screen special effects and safe fight choreography while creating their very own action epics!

Ever dreamed of jumping from rooftop to rooftop, dangling from a helicopter, or running from an explosion? Want to learn how real filmmakers create those unforgettable scenes without anyone getting hurt? Action & Special Effects is the workshop for you!

(Please note: toy weapons, especially guns, are not allowed at Light House.)

Returning filmmakers will get additional, advanced instruction.

Rising 7th-12th graders can work towards the Light House Achievement Award by completing programs in three different categories. This workshop counts as one Core Filmmaking credit. Visit lighthousestudio.org/achievement-award for more information.

Notes: Light House is closed on Independence Day, Friday July 4. There is no class that day. The final screening for this class will be on Thursday July 3. Classes fill quickly. In the event that a class doesn’t fill, registration will close one week before the scheduled start date.
