Description:
Godzilla… King Kong… Jurassic Park… where would the movies be without great monsters? In this workshop, filmmakers will build stories around the biggest, scariest, hairiest creatures their imaginations can conjure up.
We’ll learn about the history of movie monsters and special effects, practice techniques like forced perspective and green screen compositing, and build our own creatures! Students will work in groups to complete a short live-action or animated monster movie over the course of the week.
Watch the classic Light House middle school creature feature Invasion of the Bush Beast!
Rising 7th-12th graders can work towards the Light House Achievement Award by completing programs in three different categories. This workshop counts as one Core Filmmaking credit. Visit lighthousestudio.org/achievement-award for more information.
