Description:
Kids are natural comedians, and in this workshop they’ll use their talents to make audiences roll in the aisles. We’ll explore everything from silent film comedy to improv to sketch comedy and impressions. Students will work together to create their own comedy short films!
Goofing around is serious business in this workshop, where students learn how to use camera angles, body language, and editing to craft perfectly-timed comedic scenes. We’ll also cover mockumentary techniques for students looking to make the next The Office or This is Spinal Tap.
Returning filmmakers will get additional, advanced instruction.
Rising 7th-12th graders can work towards the Light House Achievement Award by completing programs in three different categories. This workshop counts as one Core Filmmaking credit. Visit lighthousestudio.org/achievement-award for more information.
Check out the middle school mockumentary Untitled Delaware Project, which screened at the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival, was a finalist at the Youth Los Angeles Film Awards, and won the Audience Choice Award at our very own Light House Youth Film Festival!
