 From July 7, 2025 until July 18, 2025 ,

 Cornell Studio (Upper Level) ,

Location: Cornell Studio (Upper Level) | 220 West Market Street, Charlottesville, VA, 22902

Description:

In this workshop, experienced students will create longer, more complex movies over the course of two weeks. After writing your film, you and your crew will audition and cast professional actors, scout offsite locations, and learn advanced camera, sound, and lighting equipment. Your shoot will take place over multiple days at different locations, so organization and planning is important! You’ll get guidance along the way from Light House’s experienced teachers and visiting guests who work in the film industry.

Narrative II is Summer Film Academy’s biggest workshop, and the final projects often go on to success at national film festivals. We’ll focus on the logistics of filmmaking as much as the creative side, and learn skills that are useful in a variety of fields. This workshop is ideal for experienced young filmmakers who want to take their work to the next level and plan for college and beyond.

This workshop counts as one Core Filmmaking credit towards the Light House Achievement Award. Visit lighthousestudio.org/achievement-award for more information.
