In this exciting new series, an all-star roster of leading writers and scholars—all of them longtime Speakers Annex favourites—takes us on a dazzling tour of their favourite cultural landmarks in great world cities.

From a look at the thrilling history of Notre Dame Cathedral with writer Lisa Pasold, host of Discovery Channel’s Paris Next Stop, to literary scholar Ira Wells’s take on the New York Public Library in the age of censorship; from a famous cafe in Naples with Italian Cultural Studies prof Teresa Lobalsamo, to Save the Deli author David Sax’s tribute to Toronto’s Harbord Bakery, we’ll explore the rich history and cultural staying power of these local institutions—and how they each embody the soul of the cities they’re in, winning the hearts of admirers at home and around the world.
