Nanaimo Science offers a variety of summer camps from June to August 2025!

Our programs are science-driven, with several hands-on activities daily, allowing children to explore, experiment, and engage with exciting science concepts. Campers also enjoy crafts, games, and outdoor time each day. All materials are provided. Campers must bring their own snacks, lunch, and water.

Please note: The camp location may change, but we will provide plenty of notice in advance.

Registration

Registration opens April 1 at 9 AM. Members of Nanaimo Science ($10 registration) get EARLY ACCESS on March 27 at 9 AM.

Camp Streams

We are pleased to offer three streams of camps for families to choose from:

• All-Ages Camps (Ages 6-12): Activities are designed for a range of ages, with many challenges allowing campers to choose their level of difficulty.
  Children who are 5 years old but have completed Kindergarten may enroll in programs for 6-year-olds. Please contact us prior to registering for support.

• Daily Camps (Selected weeks only at Country Club Centre): Campers can enroll in individual days or for a full week. Each day offers unique science activities that do not carry forward between days.

• External Camps: We also offer an external camp stream in partnership with Aspengrove School and the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN). Registration for these camps is handled separately through their respective websites. We will update the links on the  "Summer Camps At a Glance" document as they become available.

Safety Policies

• Camper-to-leader ratios do not exceed 10:1. Camp Leaders work in pairs, with additional staff and volunteers not counted toward ratios.
• All Camp Leaders:
  • Have completed criminal record checks.
  • Are fully vaccinated.
  • Hold active first aid certification.
• Health & Wellness: All participants must be in good health to attend. Please contact us if your child is sick.

Cancellation, Withdrawal & Refunds

All cancellations or changes must be requested in writing. A $25 administrative fee per child/registration applies to all changes ($15 for daily camps).

• 14+ days before camp start: Full refund, minus the administrative fee.
• 7-13 days before camp start: 50% refund, minus the administrative fee.
• Less than 7 days before camp start: No refund.
• No pro-rated fees for absences.
• Nanaimo Science reserves the right to cancel a program up to one week prior to the start date. If this occurs, all fees will be refunded
