Welcome to Summer at Parts & Crafts!

We offer 9 differently-themed weeks of summer programming. The themed weeks are more or less guidelines, while we do a lot of the same projects or types of projects that we always do. Electronics, textiles, gaming, LEGO & other building toys, miniature creations, clay, painting, drawing, boffer-swording, playground trips, field trips, jewelry-making, computer programming & designing, 3D printing, making things & taking things apart! Our atmosphere is loud, collegiate, collaborative, friendly, and fabulous. All activities are opt-in (except cleanup time!) and tend to be very independent, with plenty of opportunities for child-led exploration and self-directed learning.

All Parts & Crafts programs are for kids ages 7-13. Our programs are open to kids throughout the metro Boston area, not just Somerville or Cambridge. Registration is first-come-first-served. Early and Late Care available. 

We are located at 561 Windsor St, in Boynton Yards, Union Square!  We now share a building with the Taza Chocolate Factory. Use the main entrance & we're on the 4th floor. There may be construction! Please use caution and common sense. We highly recommend coming by bike, foot, or public transit rather than by car, if possible.

We no longer run any programs at any of our previous locations.

Parts and Crafts is a member-supported, 501(c)(3) family makerspace and community workshop based in Somerville, MA.  In our programs we encourage kids to play, think, make, and learn through the exploration of the arts, science, computer programming, and engineering –  a cluster of disciplines we refer to as “the creative application of technical skills.”  We run school-vacation camps, a full-time school-alternative program, and afterschool and weekend classes and workshops, open-shop hours and other community and family events.

Parts & Crafts Cancellation/Refund Policy
Your registration includes a non-refundable 15% deposit. You can cancel your registration at any time. 

We offer a full refund, minus a 15% deposit, up to a week before the start of a session or program.

If you cancel less than a week before the session starts, we cannot offer a refund, as we are not guaranteed to fill that spot.
