Discover the magic of combining fluid watercolor with the precision of line work! In this increasingly popular mixed-media course, students will learn how to beautifully blend watercolors with a variety of versatile ink mediums.

Each week features dynamic assignments designed to build your skills while keeping you inspired. While students are encouraged to work within a small watercolor or mixed-media notebook to create a beautiful personal art journal, you are welcome to use any paper size you prefer. Through weekly prompts, you will experiment with diverse styles and discover how ink can bring structure, contrast, and personality to vibrant watercolor washes.

Every week brings a fresh subject to life, allowing you to develop your unique artistic voice across a wide range of genres:

• Delectable Food Items & Still Lifes – Illustrating textures, shadows, and vibrant colors.

• Animals & Nature – Capturing fur, feathers, and organic movement with expressive linework.

• Atmospheric Landscapes – Learning how to ground fluid skies and fields with structural ink elements.

• Portraits & Architecture – Mastering the fine details of facial features and urban textures, from historic brickwork to modern facades.

Students will get hands-on experience and develop their own distinct style using an array of exciting tools, including:

• Micron fine-liners for precise detailing

• Sharpies for bold, graphic contrast

• Traditional calligraphy nibs and India ink for elegant, expressive linework
