Intro to Pottery Wheel Throwing in Colorado Springs

This beginner friendly pottery wheel class is perfect for anyone curious about learning to throw on the wheel. No prior experience needed. Whether you are brand new to ceramics or looking to finally try the wheel, this hands on class offers a supportive and fun introduction to wheel throwing fundamentals.

This is a small group class with a maximum of 6 participants, giving everyone plenty of individual attention and a full two hours of dedicated wheel time.

You will learn the core techniques of wheel throwing including centering clay, pulling walls, shaping forms, and safely removing your work from the wheel. A professional instructor will guide you step by step throughout the process.

✨ What You’ll Make:
You will have the opportunity to throw up to three beginner friendly pieces such as:

☕ Cups or tumblers
🥣 Small bowls
🌿 Tiny planters
💫 Ring dishes

We will also cover basic tool use, trimming concepts, and tips for improving consistency and control on the wheel.

🔥 After Class:
Your finished pieces will be fired and ready for pickup in 4 to 6 weeks. We will email and text you when they are ready.

👥 Who Can Join:
Adults 18+ only. Great for individuals, couples, friends, or parent adult child pairs looking to try the pottery wheel in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Refunds are available up to seven days before the class. Credits for future classes are available up to three days before the class. You can cancel through your online account or email us for assistance.

Notes: We have water fountains available on site and free parking in the lot behind the studio. We recommend wearing something you do not mind getting a little messy, though aprons are available for all students.
