🎨 What You’ll Learn This Beginner/Intermediate Sewing & Alterations class is designed for adults 18+ who want to build confidence using a sewing machine while learning essential skills for simple alterations and garment adjustments. With a small class size and individualized instruction, you’ll receive hands‑on support tailored to your experience level—whether you’re brand‑new to sewing or looking to strengthen your foundational skills. ⚠️ Important: This ticket option does not include a sewing machine. This class meets on the second Wednesday of each month. You may attend once or return again to continue practicing and progressing at your own pace. In this class, you’ll learn how to: • Thread your sewing machine and wind a bobbin We will work primarily on skill‑building samples and alteration techniques rather than full garments, but you are welcome to bring a small project or item needing a simple repair or hem if you’d like personalized guidance. đź§µ What’s Included • Individualized, instructor‑led guidance Please note that sewing machines are not provided for this ticket option. 🪡
The lower‑priced ticket you selected requires that you bring your own working sewing machine from home. Please remember to bring the power cord, foot pedal, and any basic accessories that came with your machine.
• Adjust and understand basic machine settings, stitch options, and tension
• Sew straight seams, simple curves, and reinforcement techniques
• Practice speed control, backstitching, pivoting, and other core skills
• Apply basic alterations techniques such as hemming, simple repairs, and fit adjustments
• Learn sewing terminology, troubleshooting basics, and machine care tips
• Fabric scraps and practice materials
• Shared basic tools, including scissors, pins, needles, chalk, seam rippers, and rulers
