Description:

Tap is the meeting place between music and movement. It is a percussive, intricate style of dance that stimulates the brain as much as the feet. Like Jazz, there are many styles of Tap including: Rhythmic, Broadway, Modern, and Hoofing. Tap teaches cultural practices and group dynamics through call and response learning, complex coordination, and shared timing that can be picked up and fine tuned over years of group practice.

Required age: 10 - 13 years old as of 12/31/2024

Notes: Class Uniform (included in tuition): Option 1 - Teal Leotard, Black Shorts. Option 2 - TRAC T-shirt, Black Shorts. Uniforms, for those who register in advance, will be ready for pick up in late August. Shoes, which can be purchased at TRAC or sourced elsewhere: Canvas or Leather Black Jazz Booties and Lace Up Oxford Black Tap Shoes. All hair should be taken care of neatly and out of the student's face. Ponytail, Bun, or Braids are required for those with medium to long hair.
