In Marine Biology, students will engage in hands-on experiences, including dissecting their own squid, encountering a 6-foot Octopus, and even immersing their hands in a jellyfish liquid to understand marine life up close. The camp kicks off with an exploration of sharks, the "ʺperfect"ʺ predators, delving into their remarkable hunting abilities that secure them a top position in the marine food chain. Through experiments, students will compare their senses to those of sharks, hold a real shark, examine its anatomy, and participate in a surfboard design competition while unraveling the intriguing phenomenon of surfers being mistaken for seals. Get ready to dive into the fascinating world of marine animals and discover the secrets of the ocean!
