Summer is a wonderful time for dancers of all ages to grow, explore, and stay inspired. At San Jose Dance Theatre, our summer programs offer something for everyone—from young children just discovering dance, to serious ballet students, to adults returning to the art form or trying it for the first time.
Our Summer Intensive is the cornerstone of our summer training and is designed for dedicated ballet students who want to maintain and advance their technique during the break. The program is known for its strong training, diverse classes, rigorous schedule, and supportive faculty. Dancers refine their classical ballet technique, build strength and artistry, and explore new movement styles in a focused and encouraging environment.
July 20 – August 7
Ages 10–18: 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
August 5-7
Ages 8–11: 1:00–4:00 p.m.
The program culminates in an in-studio showing for families, giving dancers a chance to share their progress and accomplishments.
Our summer camps and classes for children introduce dance in a joyful, imaginative, and age-appropriate way. These programs focus on coordination, musicality, creativity, and confidence while nurturing a love of movement in a fun and supportive setting.
We proudly offer opportunities for adult dancers as well, including an Adult Intensive and absolute beginner workshops. Whether returning to ballet or stepping into the studio for the first time, adults can enjoy high-quality instruction in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Consistent training over the summer helps dancers maintain strength, flexibility, and technique so they return to the fall season confident and prepared. Summer study also allows dancers to focus more deeply on skill development without the demands of the school year. Just as importantly, it keeps dancers connected to their passion, their peers, and the joy of movement.
At SJDT, summer is a time to grow, explore, and fall even more in love with dance.
