Description:
You must complete an Intermediate (Standard) First aid prior to this course. It is not included in the bronze medallion or bronze cross and is a separate 16 hr course.
The 20-hour Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Cross begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as an assistant lifeguard. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Society’s National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs. 100% attendance is mandatory.

Prerequisites: Prerequisite(s): 13 years of age and Bronze Medallion. You must have a AB workplace approved Intermediate (Standard) First Aid CPR-C & AED PRIOR to the course. It will not be included.
