Learn the basics of leatherwork while creating a personalized piece you’ll be
proud to use or gift. Each project can be customized with paint, dye, and a variety of tools. You may create a second item for an additional materials fee. Project options include:

• Whiskey Glass Wrap - Punch, stitch, and personalize a custom wrap fitted to a whiskey glass.
• Leather Coaster Set - Design and craft a set of durable, hand-finished coasters.
• Neck Strap/Necklace - Create a stylish leather strap designed to hold your eye glasses.

 

Derek Pollard was born and raised in Clayton, Georgia and has proudly called Highlands home for the past four years. His passion for craftsmanship began in childhood, and he has spent a lifetime exploring the art of creating with his hands. Derek believes there is something uniquely meaningful about transforming raw materials into something beautiful and functional. His goal is to share that experience with others—guiding students through approachable, enjoyable leatherworking projects that spark creativity and confidence.

Notes : Cancellation Policy (Please Read) Please let us know immediately if you are unable to attend a class. There is no refund for cancellations within two (2) weeks prior to a scheduled class. Programs that include food, beverage or art materials must be canceled within three (3) weeks prior in order to receive a refund. CLE reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment has not been met or for circumstances beyond our control, and participants will be notified, a complete refund will be issued. All classes are held in the CLE Lecture Hall at the Peggy Crosby Center unless otherwise noted. In the event information has changed from the published brochure, it will be posted on our website and in our e-blasts. Addresses for “private home” venues will be provided to registrants within 2 days of the program date.
