Date de début : lundi, 10 novembre 2025.

Horaire :

 Le lundi, 14 h 00 - 17 h 00 ,

 Classroom + Glass Studio ,

Lieu : Classroom + Glass Studio (DIYcave - East Building) | 444 SE 9th St, Bend, OR, 97702

Description :

This Kiln Club session will be all about Reaction Potential Samples — a fun, hands-on night of experimenting and learning how different glasses interact when fused together.. Many colors of glass will react to each other based on their chemical make up. The result is a new color where the two glass colors touch. The amount of the reactive chemical in the glass recipe, the fusing temperature, and the number of times the glass is heated can all make a difference in the final effect.

Come if you want to play, test, and discover what happens when you combine sulfide, copper, and lead-bearing glasses, mix opals and transparents, or stack unusual color combinations. It’s a great chance to see real-world results and better understand how to predict (or embrace!) reactions in your future projects. This will be perfect for anyone who wants to build confidence with color chemistry in glass.

About Kiln Club

If you have taken a fused glass class at DIYcave or already know the basics of fused glass come join The Kiln Club - where fused glass artists gather, fire it up, figure it out and learn something new together.

Looking for a fun, social, and creative way to explore new fused glass techniques? Join our community of glass lovers for monthly fused glass projects — think book club, but with color combos, kilns, and creative sparks.

Each session, we choose a project for the group to complete together. We don't portray we know what we are doing — just willing to lead the way by picking the technique, sharing a tutorial or handout, and providing the needed supplies. We’ll meet weekly throughout to work on the project side by side, ask questions, swap tips, and cheer each other on.

Whether you're trying something totally new or helping others learn your favorite technique, this is your space to experiment, connect, and grow as an artist.

Enjoy access to tools and non-glass supplies including solder, copper foil, flux, patina, and more. Glass, Kiln Firing Fees and other materials are Not included.

For your convenience, we will have affordable art glass and other materials available for purchase or bring your own.  *COE 90 is the only glass we allow in our kilns unless you schedule your own custom firing.
