Description :

So, you've taken an Intro Stained Glass class, are in love with the craft and are ready to do more. Now what? If you want to jump into bigger pieces but want help and guidance along the way, this course is for you.

In this 3-week course, you will create a stained glass suncatcher using the copper foil method and pattern of your choice. You will learn learn new tips, tricks and methods to creating successful multi piece projects.  Proper pattern layout, glass selection, cutting best practices and complex shapes, grinding for proper fit, foiling, soldering, polish and patina will all be covered in this course.

This is an open level class designed for those who have some experience in glass art but don't feel ready to go off onto their own, want to deepen their learning or want to work in a space dedicated to glass art with other like minded people. This is an opportunity to get together and bounce around ideas with other artists and hone your skills. Bring in a project of your choice and ask questions specific to that project.  Because we will only have 8 total class hours to work with you, there may be times where you will need to bring home homework to complete at home or during an open studio time here at the shop.

Week 1: Review Pattern Selection, Convert Pattern to Vinyl Stickers using the Cricut and Choose Glass. Please come prepared with a pattern you want to complete or you can choose one from our collection. Please feel free to contact Heather to discuss project ideas before or after you sign up.

Week 2: Proper Pattern Layout, Cutting and Grinding for Proper Fit, Foiling and Utilizing Copper Overlay (if applicable)

Week 3: Soldering, Adding Wire Detailing, Making Jump Rings and Finishing with Polish and Patina

You will also receive 2 additional free hours of studio time to come back and fine tune your project ifif you need more time or to start a new project and practice what you learned.

This is a copper foil/suncatcher class. Maximum pattern size 10inx10in and no more than 20 pieces. Came and Framing are not covered/included.
