Are you looking for great versatile guitar lessons? I would love to help!.  My name is Shane, I have been playing guitar for the last 20 years, and teaching professionally for the last 10. I am University educated with a Bachelors of Music (Specializing in Guitar Performance) from Carleton University. I love to teach any style, age and skill level. Everybody is welcome. On my teaching resume, I have taught young children to seniors with ages ranging 5-85. I've taught a plethora of styles including (but not limited to) any subgenre or era of: Pop, Rock, Funk, Blues, R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz, Jazz fusion, Metal etc.  I keep myself up to date with evolving music styles, trends and techniques in the guitar world. 

Student's goals can vary, some just want to learn guitar as a hobby and some would like to pursue it at a pro level in University. I have experience teaching complete beginners to successfully preparing students for University auditions. Whether your goal is to be able to learn a few of your favorite songs or to have the skillset to be a session player. I've got you covered. I am happy to teach a wide variety of techniques from basic strumming and posture all the way to extremely fast alternate picking, legato technique/extended technique such as selective picking, thumping, sweeping etc.   

My lesson material is also almost completely prepared by myself. I tend to not use textbooks as I have created over a textbook's worth of material and counting for my students. I am always creating lesson content. Many of the songs learnt are accompanied by interactive tablature that plays the song back to you. I am constantly creating new versions of existing material to apply to each student's unique situation. In my lesson plans/material you will find: guitar tablature/sheet music of requested songs ( including easy versions for beginners, fingerstyle arrangements etc.) Guitar theory courses, categorized guitar chords, exercises etc.
