"We will sing folk songs, analyze their patterns, and then get our fingers to play those patterns. When our tiny finger muscles can play patterns and our ears & brains can distinguish them, we are ready to learn their notation. Get ready to understand what familiar tones and rhythms look like on a music staff! We will use our fine motor skills to play loud and soft sounds, and long and short sounds expressively. We will also move our larger muscle groups to show musical expression in a dance or game."
