Forest School for All Accessibility Fund
One of the primary goals of Kingston Forest & Nature School is to make our programs accessible to a wide range of participants regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, language, physical ability, social behaviours or socioeconomic status.
We strive to dissolve the barriers between kids and nature by making our community safe and welcoming, choosing sites and structures that are physically accessible for everyone, and building our Forest School for All Accessibility Fund (FSFAAF) through donations and fundraisers.
Contributions to the FSFAAF allow us to: offer a 20% discount to Indigenous families in acknowledgement of the fact that Land access is a right not a privilege; offer partial & full scholarships to BIPOC, gender diverse and 2SLGBTQ+ children; set registration fees on a sliding scale based on need; establish a lending library and subsidization program for quality outerwear and gear (snow pants, rain gear, boots, hats, mitts, backpacks, water bottles, etc.); and, make necessary improvements to the site without raising program fees.
