Afterschool 2024-25 Schedule, Changes, Costs, &  Policies

Parts and Crafts Afterschool is a kid-directed makerspace-based afterschool program for kids aged 7-13.  We operate from 3pm to 5:30 M, T, Th, F and 1:30-5:30 on Wednesdays.  We are located at 561 Windsor Ave. Suite B402 & 403. Transportation is NOT guaranteed and requires separate registration.

Spring semester is Jan 27-June 13. There will be no afterschool Mon June 16 or 17. There will be no afterschool on days when SPS are closed. 

Parts & Crafts Cancellation/Refund Policy
Your registration includes a non-refundable 15% deposit.You can cancel your registration at any time. 

We offer a full refund, minus a 15% deposit, up to a week before the start of a session or program.

If you cancel less than a week before the session starts, we cannot offer a refund, as we are not guaranteed to fill that spot.

There will be no P&C afterschool on the following days:
12/20/24-1/3/25
1/20 (MLK Day)
2/17-21 (Feb Break)
4/18-25 (Good Friday & April Break)
5/26 (Memorial Day)
6/16-17 (Unless there are Snow Days)

P&C Snow Day & Inclement Weather Policy

When 2 out of the 3 surrounding cities (Boston, Somerville, Cambridge) close or delay, Parts & Crafts will also close or delay.

Changes to our Afterschool Schedule & Policies

Staff-supervised walking transportation ("Walking School Bus") spots are limited to 20 kids from the Argenziano School, 10 from Cambridgeport and will need to be registered separately. 

Children signed up for the Walking School Bus will meet P&C staff within 15 minutes of dismissal outside the main office by the two white birch trees next to the bus circle. If your child is absent or not going on the walk that day, you must notify contact@partsandcrafts.org by 12pm. Repeated failures to notify us will result in no longer being allowed on the Walking School Bus. Repeated misbehavior will result in children no longer being allowed on the Walking School Bus. 

Early-Release Wednesdays 

Somerville Public Schools will have an early release EVERY Wednesday at 1pm for the '24-'25 school year. Parts & Crafts currently has 30 available spots.  As with regular release days, children should meet staff at the designated location no more than 15 minutes after dismissal.

Cambridge Public Schools New '24-'25 Release Schedule

Because we serve so few CPS students and because their release times vary so widely, unfortunately the only way we can accommodate CPS afterschool, including Wednesdays, is to offer a single pickup at Cambridgeport School 89 Elm St, Cambridge, MA 02139.

These pickup times will be:
M, T, Th, F 2:45-3pm
W  2:15-2:30pm

Transportation from Elsewhere
We cannot provide transportation from any other schools, but will help facilitate any carpooling/ride-sharing we can. We are accessible from 5 different bus lines (85, 86, 87, 91, CT2), as well as the Green Line Extension to Union Square.
