At the Core level, young athletes learn more than dribbling and shooting — they’re building the foundation of who they are becoming.

Each week combines basketball skill development, academic support, and character-based mentorship designed for the whole child.

Mentorship Wednesdays focus on age-appropriate social-emotional learning and life readiness themes such as:

• How to bring value anywhere you go

• Building teamwork and communication skills

• Respect, responsibility, and accountability

• Developing positive habits at home and school

Each month, Core athletes participate in interactive workshops that blend fun and learning — from teamwork challenges and creative projects to goal-setting activities.

Our goal at this level is to help each athlete build the discipline, confidence, and emotional intelligence that prepare them for future leadership — both in basketball and life.

The Elite level takes development to the next stage — helping middle school athletes strengthen their decision-making, leadership, and financial literacy skills.

In addition to advanced basketball training and weekly tutoring, athletes participate in a year-long Financial Literacy Challenge in partnership with Bank of America.

Each month features a new real-world theme — budgeting, saving, investing, credit, entrepreneurship, and more — woven into their weekly Mentorship Wednesday sessions.

Athletes will:

• Present short projects or challenges related to that month’s topic

• Participate in Financial Literacy Field Days and team-building activities

• Engage in entrepreneurial simulations and small business projects

• Attend guest speaker events and workshops from community leaders

By the end of the year, Elite athletes develop the confidence to make smart decisions, communicate like young professionals, and think like entrepreneurs — while still competing as disciplined student-athletes.

Prestige is the highest level of The Gala Empire’s developmental pathway — where athletes become leaders, mentors, and workforce-ready young adults.

At this stage, participants are expected to apply the lessons they’ve learned through independent accountability and real-world engagement.

Program Requirements:

• Must complete the full Financial Skills Challenge independently (tracked through The Gala’s system)

• Must be actively engaged in one of the following during the program year:

  • Internship or job

  • Peer tutoring or volunteering

  • Vocational training or certification

• Maintain academic accountability — quarterly report cards required

• Attend all weekly Mentorship Wednesdays, where sessions include:

  • Resume building

  • Interview prep & networking

  • Financial management & entrepreneurship

  • College readiness and workforce exploration

Prestige athletes are guided to develop self-leadership, professional awareness, and community involvement — preparing them to stand out in any environment, on or off the court.

The Gala Prep Membership is designed for our youngest athletes or those new to structured basketball training — where confidence, coordination, and teamwork begin to take shape.

Prep athletes train once per week (1.5 hours) in a high-energy, encouraging environment focused on fundamentals, motor skills, discipline, and fun. Each session blends movement-based games, skill drills, and early leadership lessons that teach athletes how to focus, listen, and communicate as part of a team.

Members also enjoy:
